Job: Applications Engineer

Salary: £35-38,000

Location: Coventry

I am recruiting for an Applications Engineer with CNC experience (3 axis plus preferably) and Machine Tool programming and setting.

Job Description, Applications Engineer:

As an Application Engineer, you must have experience of machine functional testing against in house test procedures. You will be involved in machine programming and setup to produce customer parts to the specifications given. You must have knowledge of machine and associated equipment preparation for customer trials, PDI & installation. A candidate will be involved in machine installation and customer training, including demonstrations. You must be understanding of CNC programming (Siemens 840D preferred). Process development and time studies. Application Engineers must be involved in after sales support & service.

What we require, Applications Engineer:

A successful candidate must be open to travel and work at any of our global customers facilities. We are looking for an experienced programmer / Setter (3 - 5 Axis) CNC machines (Siemens 840D is of advantage). Prior industry knowledge of grinding would be an advantage (Threads, Worms, Gears). You will need to be able to carry out machine levelling, alignments checks and training during installation. Excellent communication skills to train customers to use our machines. You will need the ability to work under own initiative and read, and understand, electrical or mechanical drawings to a basic level. Ability to carry out fault finding electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic/hydraulic to a basic level as well. Competent in the use of computers, email, and MS Office.
