Buyer

Location: Lytham

Salary: Circa £35k

A lead in sheet metal engineering company is looking for a Buyer to join their team. The role of the Buyer is to support the Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning & Logistics, Sales & Marketing teams through managing our supplier relationships to ensure a timely inventory flow.

Buyer - Job Role:

• Placement of Purchase orders through our supplier base to support our end-to-end manufacturing process

• Identify new suppliers as appropriate
• Liaise with internal departments to effectively deliver the above
• Track supplier reliability & performance
• Utilise the demand forecast to identify potential shortfalls, taking appropriate remedial action
• Review Inventory levels to measure outflow against forecast
• Ensure Suppliers deliveries meet the identified standards
• Create and maintain part data for all materials and products purchased
• Support internal & external teams with new product development

Buyer – Person Requirements:

• Strong personal organisation skills
• Ability to deal with challenging situations with a positive, constructive approach
• Over 2 years’ experience of working within a production manufacturing environment with operational experience of managing customer relationships both remotely and face to face
• Previous experience of MRP systems
• Good Microsoft office skills
• Good interpersonal skills written and oral
• Membership or working towards CIPS/IOSCM
