Demand & Supply Analyst

Location: Derbyshire

Salary: Circa £35k

Responsible for creating, monitoring, analysing, and improving the demand forecast for the business, both short and long term.

Continually reviewing and evaluating the current situation, across all product types (sale and captive use), brands and channels, to understand and address the effects of deviations from the demand plan. Jointly responsible for monitoring the forecast accuracy & bias and constantly looking for solutions and tools to improve the accuracy of the plan.

Demand & Supply Analyst - Responsibilities would include:

  • Preparing an accurate demand forecast for all products with a horizon of 15 months in close cooperation with the stakeholders that contribute to this process (Sales, Operations, Supply Chain)
  • Timely receive the right input from sales (and marketing) about seasonal effects, promotions, market trends, distribution changes, tenders, product introductions and product terminations
  • Timely informing of the organization when stock levels, outbound deliveries and/or customer service are at risk
  • Proposing improvements to the forecasting process and putting it into practice
  • The preparation and monitoring of the KPIs forecast accuracy and bias
  • Participating in various projects with the aim of improving the forecast reliability and/or the forecasting process

Demand & Supply Analyst – Person Requirements & Benefits:

The employee should ideally have the following attributes to be proficient in their role:

  • Degree in the field of supply chain, operations, economics, technical engineering or similar
  • Experience or knowledge within the animal feed industry
  • Analytical mindset
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, know how to convince and persuade people at all levels
  • Ability to maintain a constructive, trusted relation with your stakeholders and pull together information across functions
  • Strong hands-on mentality
  • Results driven
  • Able to demonstrate strong numerical capability with a passion for detailed analysis
  • An inquisitive approach, able to identify risks and opportunities for appropriate follow up
  • Excellent knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office (in particular of MS Excel) is a requirement and knowledge of Infor M3 and DMP are desirable
