Despatch & Sales Manager
Location: Telford
Salary: £30k-£40k + Car Allowance
A well-established manufacturer are looking for a Despatch & Sales Manager to join their team.
Despatch & Sales Manager - Job Role:
- Manage all customer requests, in line with fixed and forecast production plans.
- Keep all key stakeholder’s aware customer requests/requirements and any shipment delays.
- Control all required customer deliveries, in line with customer requirements, due dates and shipping requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is created for goods (including Export) being shipped, is undertaken in a professional and timely manner
- Analise which orders are available to be shipped to Customers and report back to Planning on any that are not complete.
- Formulate plans and advise the Production Director on how to maintain an efficient, progressive, and effective Dispatch ad Sales department covering all aspects of the main job purpose.
- Ensure a timely response to customers’ enquiries, queries, and complaints in an efficient and professional manner
- Ensure all documentation required by the customer is sent electronically advising them of what has been shipped with all the required information concerning the shipment.

- Maintain a proactive planning and tracking process of all customer orders through to delivery completion.
- Deliver a cost-effective dispatch planning process for all customer orders, through active liaison with the customers, production planning and eternal transport providers.
- Build and maintain a strong and stable department, maintaining a professional and efficient organisation to meet the customer and Company’s requirements.
- Ensure that the Departmental objectives you are given are implemented and achieve the Company’s targets by developing existing staff, recruiting new staff when needed, and establishing effective control systems.
- Maintain logistical control in all aspects of the job purpose with integrity, quality, and delivery.
- Report any deviations in operating performances to the General Manager in a timely manner
Despatch & Sales Manager – Person Requirements:
- Be highly motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Have self-pride in the standard of work conducted.
- Be an effective motivator & communicator at all levels.
- Be able to work on own initiative and in a team environment.
- Be diligent with a strong attention to detail.
- ONC/HNC in mechanical and/or production engineering.
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical & electrical maintenance.
- ILM/NVQ Level 4 Supervisory Management or equivalent
- Proven working experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of warehouse management.
- Understanding of 5s, Kaizan and TPM.
- Able to manage projects within time scales and budgets.
- Able to compile concise informative reports with best practice recommendations.
- Experience of discipline and grievance procedures/HR.
