Job: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Manchester

Salary: £35-45,000

A leading manufacturer and maintenance provider of clean air containment equipment are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team due to recent expansion.

What you will do, Mechanical Design Engineer:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will liaise with Contracts Manager and Director. You will have to compile General Arrangement drawings for Client approval. From there you will have to detail individual component parts ensuring fitting of multiple parts. A Mechanical Design Engineer will then produce in house documentation, i.e., parts list and assembly instructions. Another task will be to compile Operation & Maintenance Manuals. Key responsibilities will be to attend customer design meetings, review site conditions ahead of design development, and issuing specifications to purchasing for bespoke parts.

What we require, Mechanical Design Engineer:

We expect a successful candidate to be educated to at least HND level. We also require a candidate to have at least two years in mechanical design projects. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate at all levels. A good candidate will have proficient computer skills including usage of Outlook and Microsoft packages. A candidate must be fully proficient with SolidWorks, 3D drafting package and AutoCAD for basic 2D drawings. A candidate must have exceptional customer service and problem-solving can-do attitude.
