Operations Manager (12-month FTC)
Location: Truro
Salary: £45k-£65k
Operations Manager (12-month FTC) - Job Role:
- Ensure accurate, timely servicing of orders from end to end - order acceptance to delivery.
- Monitor production performance, ensuring that quality targets are set and met.
- Set and maintain standards and procedures relating to Environment, Health and Safety and ensure compliance.
- Ensure production plans meet demand requirements.
- Control material supply and stock levels to ensure production is maintained, and stock value is maintained at an optimal level.
- Oversee purchasing to ensure timely and adequate supply of materials at best cost and quality.
- Work with the Supply chain manager to define and implement a supply chain strategy to meet the future needs of the business.
- Work with the Factory Manager and Production Engineering team to develop and implement a programme of initiatives to grow and mature the production facility to meet the needs of the business.
- Work with the Quality Manager to define, build and grow quality management processes to achieve world-class quality standards with continuous improvement as a core principle at the heart of our operations.
- Drive and embody an inclusive culture that engages employees and engenders motivation to deliver best in class standards and a sense of ownership and pride in Kensa’s vision and success.
- Monitor and report on Operations Performance, understand and address risks and issues in a structured, swift, and timely manner.
Operations Manager (12-months FTC) – Person Requirements:
- You will have 10 or more years of previous experience in technical manufacturing business and at least 5 years relevant management experience. You will have track record managing an organisation to deliver high quality products on time, defining and meeting target metrics.
- Good technical and engineering know-how.
- Hands-on engineering of production systems and tools.
- Fully conversant with Lean Manufacturing principles and their implementation.
- Change Management and Project Management Practices.
- Understanding of production management and controls.
- Experienced in Quality Management, ISO9001 compliance and EH&S management.
- Good understanding of demand forecast and materials planning.
- Familiar with Supply chain management and good practice.
- Understanding of New Product Introduction in relation to transfer to production
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or related technical discipline.
