Production Manager

Salary: £45k-£50k

A large manufacturing company is currently looking for a Production Manager to join their team.

Production Manager - Job Role:

• Manage and analyze production data and metrics. Identify and manage continuous improvement projects as well as preventative maintenance programs. Ensure that material supplies are sufficient, and the material product mix is adequate.
• Oversee all day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure adequate manufacturing capacity is maintained to meet IPL customer needs.
• Ensure that daily production reporting is accurate, timely and consistent with the production scheduled. Monitor manufacturing performance and results.
• Identify, suggest and execute corrective actions to minimize costs, eliminate material shortages and reduce deviations from the production schedule. Execute production at or better than Standards.
• Oversee the maintenance of production equipment and tools to maximize plant productivity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive equipment and tool maintenance program to reduce unplanned downtime and repair expenses.
• Implement and carry out the Company’s Quality Policy with a focus on customer’s expectations, problem prevention, and continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers and the company.
• Implement design changes and manufacturing improvements.
• Ensure that Safety continues to be a priority by collaborating with the Safety Coordinator, Safety Committee, and Plant Manager to establish and enforce company-mandated safety policies and procedures.

Production Manager – Person Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
• Must be technically proficient to ‘troubleshoot’ mechanical problems with molds and machinery.
• Must have complete knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask.
  • Must be efficient and organized.

• Working knowledge of machine, conveyor, and robotic operations
• Working knowledge and skills with hand and power tools
• General knowledge and ability to operate a personal computer (PC)
  • MS Office (email, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Experience working in a fast pace, high change environment with limited supervision: self-starter
• Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow-up skills
• Must be able to work under time pressure and prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
