Project Engineer
Location Information – Duckinfield, Manchester
Salary £33 - £38k DOE

A local manufacturer is now looking for a Project Engineer to join their team to generate and develop accurate project estimates and plans using Microsoft Project, clearly identifying resource needs.

Project Engineer - Key Accountabilities

  • Generate project estimates and plans
  • Establish constraints with stakeholders; and capture all essential information in agreed project initiation documents.
  • Develop accurate and realistic project plans that are accepted by the user and engineering team leaders
  • Break down the plan into suitably sized work packages with associated earned value and cost estimates
  • Identify project dependencies and the critical path
  • Define deliverable resource requirements and work plans.
  • Track project delivery against set targets and milestones.
  • Issue periodic activity plans to project team and monitor adherence to plan
  • Maintain up to date master project plan, tracking progress against project milestones.
  • Compile ongoing forecast of future project activity and cost to completion
  • Maintain project history and organise project wrap-up meeting to capture lessons for continuous improvement
  • Liaise with engineering team leaders to identify resource needs and eliminate or minimize resource conflicts

Project Engineer – Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Project Engineer role in an engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Qualified to Practitioner level in either PRINCE2 or APM.
  • Must be able to achieve minimum BPSS Security Clearance.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Project Engineer in a critical application sector such as aerospace, defence, automotive or energy
  • Experience Using Preactor Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) Software
  • Qualified to Practitioner level in either PRINCE2 or APM

Project Engineer - Other requirements

• Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.

• Candidates will need to undergo an internal BPSS check prior to gaining site access.
