Purchasing Coordinator


A large electrical engineering business are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join their team. The business works across electrical, fire and security, testing and inspection, control systems and automation and data.

Purchasing Coordinator - Responsibilities would include:

  • Ensuring each purchase is looked at commercially and procured correctly based on cost and quality
  • Receiving, checking, and booking in supplier deliveries
  • Negotiate with suppliers, the best purchasing prices, with an aim to make cost savings
  • Process returns for unused/faulty items and chase credits from suppliers
  • First point of contact on the telephone for our suppliers and staff for material purchases and queries
  • Organising stores and keeping store levels correct
  • Organising materials ready for electricians to take to site

Purchasing Coordinator – Person Requirements:

  • The confidence to negotiate with suppliers
  • The ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The confidence and ability to work unsupervised
  • An appetite to learn new skills and products
  • The ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Competence in the use of IT with knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Previous experience working in an electrical wholesalers would be an advantage or good electrical product knowledge, but not essential as training will be given
