Purchasing Coordinator
Cumbria
A large electrical engineering business are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join their team. The business works across electrical, fire and security, testing and inspection, control systems and automation and data.
Purchasing Coordinator - Responsibilities would include:
- Ensuring each purchase is looked at commercially and procured correctly based on cost and quality
- Receiving, checking, and booking in supplier deliveries
- Negotiate with suppliers, the best purchasing prices, with an aim to make cost savings
- Process returns for unused/faulty items and chase credits from suppliers
- First point of contact on the telephone for our suppliers and staff for material purchases and queries
- Organising stores and keeping store levels correct
- Organising materials ready for electricians to take to site
Purchasing Coordinator – Person Requirements:
- The confidence to negotiate with suppliers
- The ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The confidence and ability to work unsupervised
- An appetite to learn new skills and products
- The ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Competence in the use of IT with knowledge of Microsoft products
- Previous experience working in an electrical wholesalers would be an advantage or good electrical product knowledge, but not essential as training will be given
