Quality Manager

Location: Gloucester

Salary: up to £50k

About the company:

A local composite manufacturing company are now looking for a Quality Manager to join their team.

Day to Day responsibilities include:

  • New product / processes, development, and implementation of robust quality controls
  • Manage compliance to management system
  • Management for written procedures, SOP’s, policies, and documentation control
  • Management of all onsite 3rd party audits and supplier audits when required
  • Management of customer quality concerns or queries
  • Reviewing non-conformance close out and reviews (CAPA)
  • Management for 8D activities
  • Management of monthly Quality report for board of directors
  • Establishment and management of annual objectives and KPI Targets
  • Management of quality complaints, equipment calibration and annual audit schedule
  • Support for process departments quality issues
  • Continual improvement for inspection techniques, the quality management system and laboratory testing equipment.

What you will bring:

The ideal candidate MUST come from the manufacturing industry as a Quality Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

  • 3-5 years Quality Management experience
  • Completed a recognised Managers training program (i.e., ILM Level 5)
  • Experienced working within AS9100rev D, / ISO9001:2015 certified organisations
  • Knowledge of AS9102 FAIR requirements
  • Ability to read and interrogate engineering drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Hold a lead auditor’s certificate in a recognised quality management system
  • Advanced metrology skills (CMM / Scanning arms)
  • Experienced in use of conventional inspection equipment
  • Experience in use of cad systems to view 3D components (i.e., mini magics, solid view)
  • Experienced in 8D, PPAP and SPC
  • Capable of performing and administering Ge’ R&R, MSA activities

Desirable Skills:

  • Served a recognised Engineering apprenticeship
  • Experienced working within ISO14001:2015
  • Trained internal auditor AS9100 Rev D / 9001:2015
  • 8D Trained
  • Experience with leans manufacturing techniques, Kaizen and 5S

Other:

  • Full driving licence.
  • Must be prepared to travel to supplier premises within the UK as required to complete onsite audits, review quality issues (could be at short notice).
