Quality Technician

Location Information – Maidstone

Salary £22 - £28k DOE

Hours: 8.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday

A local manufacturer is now looking for a Quality Technician to join their team. This is a hands-on role that would suit an experienced Quality Technician with a strong background in the inspection of fine limit sheet metal fabrications and associated products.

Quality Technician - Key Accountabilities

• Final inspection of sheet metal & machined components to drawings manufactured in our engineering plant
• Inspection of incoming raw materials and sub-contract operations
• In-process inspection of parts
• Maintain all quality records
• Calibration of measuring equipment
• Assisting the quality engineer with non-conforming investigations
• Assisting with ISO 9001 management system duties
• Meeting production deadlines for orders
• Supporting the quality team in discussions with suppliers & customers over concerns & issues

Quality Technician – Qualifications and Experience

Essential skills:

• Experience of fine limit sheet metal inspection
• Experience of using measurement equipment
• A good understanding of reading engineering drawings, tolerances and first principle measuring techniques
• Experience and understanding of ISO 9001
• Strong organisational and decision-making skills
• Proficient IT skills and experience of ERP systems
• Team player possessing good inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate to staff at all levels
• Possess a fine attention to detail

Desirable Skills

• Experience of CMM
• Experience of XRF analysis
• Experience of hardness and tensile testing
• Experience of 8D, FMEA, AQAP processes
