Senior Buyer

Location: Huddersfield

Salary: £35k

A large manufacturing company is looking for a senior buyer to join their team. They will be responsible for the quality, price, and delivery of purchased goods against planned deliveries ensuring all requirements are achieved, to meet both business and customer expectations.

Senior Buyer - Responsibilities would include:

• Having a proactive approach to delivering associated strategy development, supplier management, process control and day to day stakeholder management under collaborative programme delivery.
• Responsible for commodity strategy development
• Works closely with all operational teams; production, quality, design, supply chain to ensure continuity of supply.
• Manage effective supplier relationships for assigned commodities including Business Reviews / Supplier Visits
• Expediting Documentation/Deliveries.
• Raising Request for Quotation’s from Project Requirement Planning and generate Purchase Order with most competitive suppliers to satisfy business expectations.
• Follow NCN Process.

Senior Buyer – Person Requirements:

The ideal candidate must have knowledge of working within metal sheet fabrication. You will also have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

• Demonstrable experience of procurement in engineering manufacturing

• Ability to foster excellent relationships with suppliers.
• A thorough understanding of ERP/MRP, purchasing tools and techniques; Negotiation skills.
• Displaying a sense of urgency; Planning, prioritising and organisational skills
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail.
• IT Literate, including Windows, Office, etc.
• CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing) Qualification.
