Supply Chain Manager
Location: Molesey, South East London
Salary: £35k-£45k
Supply Chain Manager – Job Role:
- Enter forecast build / Master Production Schedules
- Ensure MRP work order messages (create WO, defer, expedite, cancel) are actioned in a timely manner to ensure all shop floor jobs are completed to the required delivery date.
- Ensure MRP purchase order messages (create PO, defer, expedite, cancel) are actioned in a timely manner to ensure all materials and services, both direct and indirect, are received to the required delivery date.
- Achieve and improve where possible on planned material cost and report reason and mitigating actions for any adverse variances (PPV).
- Negotiate and implement supplier agreements for best value, quality price, lead-time and working capital targets.
- Design, implement and manage a supplier monitoring and development program.
- Maintaining static purchasing data within MRP (lead-times, payment and delivery terms, cross reference part numbers, approval and categorization status, inspection codes, price breaks).
- Manage and report on long lead-time and high risk (sole source) suppliers and take mitigating actions to reduce risk as appropriate.
- Communicate with suppliers open order status and progress purchase orders to ensure original / required promised delivery date are kept on schedule.
- Achieve KPI targets as published for supplier on time delivery, quality and acknowledgement performance.
- Report on material shortages for work orders and sales orders, purchase price variance (PPV) and lead-time status for all materials.
- In collaboration with Quality and Finance departments, administrate the supplier approval and assessment process to maintain an approved suppliers list within the ERP system and to ISO 9001 requirements.
- Enter sales orders and sales order amendments onto the ERP system.
- Monitor and progress the due out list and work with Production and Customer Support / Service Departments to achieve on time delivery to customers.
- Keep customers informed of delivery date changes.
- Verify a supply is matched to all SO demand.
- Report on time SO delivery performance.
- Assist the organisation with answering and responding to customer after sale enquiries relating to delivery dates or changes to sales orders.
- Verify that shipments comply with all export control regulations
Supply Chain Manager – Person Requirements:
- A degree in business management or a related field or demonstrable equivalent experience to meet the requirements of the job specification.
- Minimum 2 years continuous prior experience in manufacturing, supply chain management or a related planning activity field ideally in high tech or instrument electromechanical manufacturing environment.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent planning and time management skills.
- Excellent computer literacy skills.
- Knowledge of industry health and safety laws.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
