Job: Design Manager

Salary: £50,000

Location: Portsmouth

I am recruiting for an Engineering Manager to lead a small team of engineers between 5 and 6 people.

Job description, Design Manager:

You will be leading a team of engineers overseeing the design and manufacturing process, making sure it is inline with company standards. You must identify and resolve issues within the team, whilst developing the team to higher standards. You will encourage continuous improvement within the team too. You will be responsible for building key relationships to push the company forward to meet the required company standards and customer expectations. You will also oversee engineering operations, ensuring they are in accordance with safe working systems.

What we require, Design Manager:

We require a candidate to come from a strong engineering background, with good ability to solve problems and determined to drive the business forward. You will be involved in the drawing aspects, using CAD/Inventor skills to implement parametric/automated drawing functions. A perfect candidate will have experience in thermodynamics, sheet metal fabrication, production techniques, ISO 9001, and electrical controls. You will need to investigate and resolve any site issues that occur including the test equipment. You must have either an electrical or mechanical engineering qualification, BEng or above is preferred. Prepared to travel round the UK/overseas for short periods of time.
