Health and Safety Manager

Location: Bolton

Salary: Circa £40k - £45k

A local engineering company who manufacture and install their products on sites such as hospitals, hotels and schools now requires a Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

Health and Safety Manager – Overview:

To ensure compliance with all relevant HSE regulations and standards, acting as the competent person in Health & Safety, providing knowledge in line with latest law and best practice

Health and Safety Manager – Job Role:

• Review and update the HSE Policies and procedures
• Work with the company to attain ISO 45001 accreditation
• Undertake site audits, site inspections, toolbox talks and control of contractors on site.
• Attend client sites to support Project Managers, audit performance against defined RAMS, create and review Construction Phase Plans as required
• Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and laws
• Take timely and appropriate action in the event of emergency, deviation from planned achievements, actual or potential contravention of Health and Safety, Environmental regulations
• Ensure that HSE Training needs are being reviewed and implemented in a timely manner to ensure compliance with HSE regulations
• Ensure risk assessments are being carried out and method statements produced in line with business and project requirements
• Ensure compliance with relevant HSE, Environmental and Employment Regulations are maintained in conjunction with senior staff and Directors
• Communicate effectively so that staff and contractors are aware of, and compliant with those requirements

Health and Safety Manager – Person Requirements:

• The ideal candidate must come from the engineering / construction industry as Health and Safety Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
• Hold a minimum of a NEOBSH Construction certificate or equivalent
• Working towards a NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ or NVQ Diploma in Health & Safety
• Knowledge and understanding of CDM regulations
• Experience of establishing/maintaining ISO 45001 accreditation
