Manufacturing Production Planner/Scheduler

Location: Kent

Salary: £28k - £35k


Due to continued growth and expansion my client is currently recruiting for aManufacturingProduction Planner/ Schedulerto join their team.

As theManufacturingProduction Planner/ Scheduleryou will implement the new scheduling software into our ERP system and then be ready to take over the everyday scheduling for all production departments throughout the business. You will be responsible for highlighting any areas of concern to ensure smooth production to meet customer deadlines, liaising with all departments and making this role your own

Manufacturing Production Planner/Scheduler – Responsibilities will include:

  • Work as part of a team to identify suitable software which will meet the business needs
  • Once selected, manage the implementation of the software into the business
  • Once commissioned, create weekly production plans to optimize throughput & meet delivery dates
  • Working with the Sales department to fill gaps and advise lead times
  • Manage the system, ensuring accuracy within the master data
  • Performance analysis of the schedule against actual output, reporting business KPI’s for each department
  • Identifying upcoming bottlenecks or resource gaps to production to help prevent occurrence
  • Work with Purchasing & Stores to advise on changes in schedules which will affect raw materials/ supplies, etc.

Manufacturing Production Planner/Scheduler– Person Requirements:

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience in a planning function, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent IT skills, must be experienced in MRP systems, Excel, Word, etc.,
  • Excellent communication skills, must be a team player
  • Ability to adapt & respond to changes in planning restrictions
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Good Organisational skills [multi-tasker], used to deadlines

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in low-mid volume batch manufacturing
  • Experience of Progress Plus would be advantageous
  • Experience of working within an ISO9001 quality system, 5S or Six Sigma
