Job: Mechanical Design Draughtsman

Salary: £38,000

Location: Sheffield

I am looking for a Mechanical Design Draughtsman to aid in the design for a team of committed, multiskilled engineers in bespoke machinery.

Job Description, Mechanical Design Draughtsman:

You will be one of the main Mechanical Designers within the company. You will provide detailed designs of systems and sub-systems from defined client specifications, this will include 3D CAD models, gas, and pneumatic schematics. You must work in the given time scales with the set budget. We would like you to gain a better understanding of existing products, materials, production techniques, and design rules to have a better grasp of new designs and how to reduce things like material costs, and production efficiency. We would like previous experience in Design for Manufacture. You will also need to support the manufacturing process by resolving mechanical issues.

What we require, Mechanical Design Draughtsman:

We would require around 10 years previous experience in Mechanical Design using CAD Software. We require a minimum HND level in a Mechanical/Manufacturing appropriate subject. We require previous transferable experience in directives, norms, and standards used in the light industrial applications. We require a good knowledge of mechanisms, gearing, and basic pneumatics with an ability to perform basic calculations. Previous experience in welding and fabrication practices. Occasional travel is also a requirement.
